Biography

Roland Reiter

Roland Reiter was born in 1965 in Schladming, Austria. He studied wood-carving and stone sculpture in Hallstatt from 1980 to 1984. In 1987, Reiter transferred to the University of Applied Arts in Vienna, attending the sculpture class of Professor Wander Bertoni. Simultaneously, he took a course for rhythm and percussion instruments under Andreas Menrath at the Vienna Conservatory. Since 1995 he has held the position of Lecturer in Sculpture at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna and has collaborated with Matteo Thun, Paulo Piva, Adolf Frohner, Wander Bertoni, Gerda Fassl and Erwin Wurm. Contractual work brought Reiter to Switzerland and Italy, and in 1994 he was involved in the development of the interactive Children's Museum in Vienna. His work has featured in numerous exhibitions in Austria, Germany and France, including the Museum of Applied Arts (MAK) in Vienna, the “art & antique fair” in the Vienna Hofburg and the Joanneum Universal Museum in Trautenfels Castle.
