Biography

Michela Ghisetti

Michela Ghisetti was born in Bergamo in 1966. She studied from 1988 to 1992 at the Accademia Carrara di Belle Arti in Bergamo and graduated with a diploma in painting and graphic arts. In 1992 she came to Austria for another four years of study in the master class of Gunter Damisch at the Academy of Fine Arts. Since then she has lived and worked as a freelance artist in Vienna.
Her works have been shown at exhibitions at the BA-CA Kunstforum in Vienna, several times in the context of Albertina Contemporary at the Albertina in Vienna, at the Kunstforum Strabag in Vienna, as well as in Hamburg, Berlin and Sochi and in several personal exhibitions in Italy. Works by the artist can be found in the Albertina, Vienna, in the Angerlehner Museum in Wels, as well as in the collections of the City of Vienna, the BMBWF, and Strabag in Vienna, and in the Urban Collection in Waidhofen. The Albertina is devoting a major retrospective to the artist in 2020.
