Lukas Janitsch

Biography

Lukas Janitsch was born in 1989 in Ritzing in Burgenland and studied at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna with Johanna Kandl, Hans Schabus, Thomas Zipp and Henning Bohl as well as at the Academy of Fine Arts in Dresden. Since 2014 he has been involved in numerous group exhibitions in Austria, Germany, Italy, England and Iran and has had several solo exhibitions in Austria and Germany. As shooting star of the Austrian art scene he received a scholarship from the Anni and Heinrich Sussmann Foundation. His work has been awarded the Burgenland Youth Culture Prize and the Caspar David Friedrich Prize.
