Barbara Szüts. Metal Drawings, Klagenfurt 2021, ill S. 48 ff.

Szüt's works are scripted-looking delicate objects made of stainless steel or aluminium, with titles such as "Superimposed", "Radiant" or "Flying". They can be hung on the wall, free-standing and presented from both sides. Spontaneous drawings inspired by movement sequences in nature, which are often barely noticeable and can only be perceived subconsciously, are transformed in a complex transformation process and by means of a specially developed computer programme into templates for the sculptures that are later produced with the laser. These reflect the brightness and colours of the room, resulting in an interaction of light and shadow that becomes visible as a spatial drawing on the wall. This results in a constant change from two- to three-dimensionality, which is the special charm of Barbara Szüts' works.

"I had the idea of drawing from space onto the sheet of paper, that is, I take momentum from space and strike the sheet of paper with the pencil. I create smears - interruptions of spatial movement. I usually work in three sequences of movements that intertwine and interdepend on each other. I work with repetitions, which are quickly placed next to and on top of each other on the sheet of paper and through these repetitions a body is created and from this body I then let a sculpture emerge." (Barbara Szüts)
