Karin Pliem's river transports "all kinds of psychological and emotional ballast away. Images and data that we no longer need or can process" . Set pieces of ancient cultures, such as the sun god of Greek and Roman mythology, Helios or Sol, and a Byzantine capital of the Hagia Sophia appear in the picture, washed to the shore by the river of forgetfulness and densely interwoven with plants, an octopus and other creatures.
