Markus Prachensky's artistic path and the setting of different emphases over the course of time can be easily understood on the basis of the two early works on paper "Rechberg" from 1966 and "Colima-Jalisco" from 1974.
In the impressive mixed media "Rechberg", orange, compact circular forms contrast with an expressively painted purple colour field on which the reddish ellipsoids seem to dance. The title refers to the place of the same name in Styria, where Wolfgang Hollegha moved into a studio during the summer months. Markus Prachensky paints here together with his friend and co-founder of the legendary "Gruppe St. Stephan".
